My husband and I raised our 3 awesome humans in beautiful rural Wainfleet on nearly four acres,

and we settled here just before our third child was born.  We aim to be sustainable, follow principles

of permaculture, heat with wood, grow our own food, hunt, fish, and all members of the house participate in this rewarding lifestyle.

I grew up on a hobby farm in Bismarck, Ontario and my life would not be complete without animals, nature and plants. 

​

There are 3 beloved resident dogs at our home; "Lulu" is a mini blue merle Aussie, her daughter "Beans" is a tricolour Aussie, and then there is our EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH (every month) 15yo "Ruby", a Shi-poo and fixture of the office.  Full of personality and zip, these pups are my best friends!

We recently parted with our flock of Katahdin sheep after 14 years, but we have an energetic and prolific large flock of laying hens that free run in in our yard, with a beautifully handsome rooster "The Colonel" keeping watch over them. Sometimes eggs are available for you!  We hosted 2 litters of Australian shepherd puppies in 2022 and 2023, and many of my patients got to sit with them before and after consultations for a snuggle and dose of puppy goodness.  Also we have barn cats, and pasture raise turkeys for a few months of each year.  Outside of office hours, you may meet me in the driveway in my plaid with rubber boots - my favourite attire.
